Work Experience

Senior Work Experience

Work Experience allows eligible seniors to complete part of the school day off campus for employment. Students must meet all eligibility requirements and submit all required documents before receiving approval.

 

Complete first. Enroll second. Leave campus only after approval.

 

Until approval is granted, students must follow their full school-day schedule and attendance requirements.

Eligibility and Expectations

  • Students must:
  • Be on track to graduate.
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA.
  • Maintain at least 96% attendance and punctuality.
  • Have no behavior referrals.
  • Follow school policies and expectations.
  • Submit all required documents.
  • Leave campus promptly at the beginning of the assigned Work Experience period.
  • Work for an employer that carries workers’ compensation insurance.

 Documents Required

  • Work Experience syllabus
  • Most recent paystub
  • Completed B1-1 application
  • Early-dismissal permission form
  • Required district forms

 Academic Progress Requirement

Students must pass all graduation-required courses. Students not passing a required course at the 10-week grading period have until the 15-week grading period to raise the grade.

 

If the student is still not passing at 15 weeks, permission to leave campus will be revoked. If the student ultimately fails the course, the work permit may also be revoked.
