English Learners Department Overview
The Hamilton High School English Learner Department is proud of the success of the English Learners in our Hami High family. The English Learner Department staff provides support for our English Learner students and their parents and guardians. Programs and services for English Learners help our students who have a home language other than English to meet grade-level academic standards and to develop English proficiency Access to a rigorous curriculum and appropriate support services is in place to help our English Learners achieve their academic and socio-emotional needs. Our teachers utilize effective instructional strategies to validate the native language and culture of all students. English Learners receive instruction in academic subjects, including English language development (ELD), as part of their core program. EL Designee Statement
As the EL Designee, my goal is to support the success of our English Learner students in every way I can. We value the languages and cultures our students bring to our school, and we’re committed to giving them the academic support they need to grow with confidence. Our school strives to be a place where every student feels welcomed, supported, and able to reach their highest potential
