Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement Overview

Hamilton High is fortunate to be able to offer a wide variety of Advanced Placement (AP) courses for its students. AP courses feature a college-level curriculum and the opportunity to earn college credit by passing the requisite AP exam (s) at the end of the year. In addition, students taking AP classes and passing AP exams greatly improve their chances for admission to a college or university. Hamilton High is proud of the success of its students taking the AP exam in many different subject areas. We encourage all students to investigate the excellent AP courses offered on campus and to consider the benefits of successfully passing one or more AP exams.

2026 AP Exam Dates

The 2026 AP Exams will be administered in schools over two weeks in May: May 4–8 and May 11–15. AP coordinators are responsible for notifying students when and where to report for the exams. Early testing or testing at times other than those published by College Board is not permitted under any circumstances. Late-testing dates are available if students cannot test during the first two weeks of May.

    • AP Computer Science Principles students to submit their Create performance task as final.

AP Digital Practice

Students can:

  • Try each type of multiple-choice and/or free-response question they’ll encounter on exam day.
  • Preview the flow of the exam and practice using the tools and features in the app.
  • Confirm that their technology works as expected.

Students will have access to two practice options:

  • Digital Practice: A longer option students can use to fully explore the digital testing application.
  • App Demo: A shorter option students can use to quickly confirm that the application is correctly installed, that questions display appropriately, and that they can enter answers.

CollegeBoard strongly recommends that all students taking digital exams do one of these practice options.
