All 11th-graders are required to participate in the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments (SBA) for ELA and Math except...

1. When stated in a student's IEP,  the student will take the California Alternate Assessment (CAA) test in lieu of the SBA.  
2. English Learners who are in their first 12 months of attending a school in the USA as of April 15th of the previous year are except from the ELA test only
