Cultural Arts Passport
In partnership with Southern California’s finest cultural organizations and venues, this program ensures equal access to arts and culture for every child, many of whom would not otherwise have this breadth of opportunities. The CAP provides opportunities for students to engage in experiential learning with different cultural institutions throughout the diverse Los Angeles community. Cultural experiences are far more meaningful when students see a strong link between the field trip and the instruction they receive in the classroom.
Through cultural experience trips, professional development for teachers, and interdisciplinary classroom instruction, students make connections between the Arts and non-arts disciplines while developing literacy, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. The District is committed to ensuring that families also have access to the Arts after school and on weekends. The trips have been led by Ms. Monroe, Ms. Owens, and Ms. Lujan.
If you are interested in attending a field trip, go to room 109 (Parent Center) on Wednesdays a month before the event. Limited space is available and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You will need a parent/guardian's phone number and email address. Students who turn in the required paperwork first will get priority.
